CAMRA announces the Supreme Regional Pub winners

The top four best pubs in Britain as judged by the Campaign for Real Ale, CAMRA, have been announced as they move closer to crowning the National Pub of the Year. The pubs are judged on their atmosphere, decor, welcome, service, value for money, customer mix, but most importantly – quality of beer. Kelham Island Tavern: Britain’s Best Again

Sheffield’s Kelham Island Tavern, forced to close after floods hit in 2007, has won CAMRA’s top gong for a second consecutive year. It’s the first pub to win the Campaign for Real Ale’s National Pub award twice on the trot. The Kelham Island Tavern, which was described by 2009 judges as a “small gem”, was praised for its quality of beer and attention to detail. Licensee Trevor Wraith said the accolade was a “great achievement”.
