Britain’s best beer 2014 – the Results
After claiming last year’s runner-up spot, Oakham Citra has this year claimed top spot in the Draught beers category, beating Timothy Taylor Landlord into second place. In the packaged category, Thornbridge Kipling was runner-up being narrowly beaten to top spot by Purity Pure UBU.
Although not a prizewinner, special mention must go to Brewdog as they have had by far the most beers nominated – perhaps next year we should run a ‘most beers nominated’ category?
The full results are:
Draught (cask/keg)
Winner: Oakham Citra Runner-up: Timothy Taylor Landlord
Narrowly missing out were: Thornbridge Jaipur, Magic Rock High Wire and Marble Dobber
Packaged (bottle/can)
Winner: Purity Pure UBU Runner-up: Thornbridge Kipling
Not too far behind were; Adnams Broadside and Thornbridge Jaipur
Thanks again to Ales By Mail who provided a monthly case of beer as the prize in our draw. Special thanks also to everyone who voted – same again next year?
