Wentworth: WPA v Goldaletalk
WPA – ‘a glowing golden coloured ale with a refreshing floral nose‘
Gold – ‘boasting a satisfying bitter aftertase and delicious aroma‘
Wentworth Brewery is an independent micro-brewery based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. According to their website they ‘produce great tasting beers and the finest quality spring water‘…
WPA – abv 4%
Pours a beautiful clear pale golden colour with a nice foamy head.
A citrus & slightly hoppy aroma.
Nice sharp fruity taste with a little creaminess. A good dry finish.
This beer is perfect for the garden on a warm sunny day.
Gold – abv 5%
Pours a super clear golden colour. The head is foamy but doesn’t stay long.
The hoppy, slightly grassy aroma isn’t unpleasant but doesn’t set my world on fire.
Slight malty grapefruit taste with a dry bitter finish.
The WPA gets the vote – and it’s an easy winner. The Gold, although quaffable was a bit bland in comparison to the WPA which really ‘hit the spot’ and I was wanting another when I’d finished it. The Gold, I could take-it or, leave-it.
